Mid-year state budget cuts to PreK Counts, Head Start Supplemental
Pennsylvania is facing a $450 million budget gap for the current fiscal year. In response to the state's fiscal troubles, the Rendell Administration announced the details of mid-year budget cuts to address the gap. In general, the cuts include a 1% across-the board reduction of general state operations as well as specific program cuts. So far, child care dollars have been spared, but PreK Counts and the Head Start Supplemental will be reduced:
